Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana Graces Govt. Champhai High School Golden Jubilee Celebration
Champhai, Nov 2025: Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana today graced the Golden Jubilee (50th anniversary) celebration of Government Champhai High School as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vanlalthlana said that Government Champhai High School has long been recognized as a leading institution, having achieved excellence in academics as well as co-curricular activities. He stated that reaching the milestone of 50 years is a matter of great pride and encouraged students and teachers to continue striving toward excellence. Human beings always aspire to achieve more, he said, and expressed pride that both Champhai and the school have continued to progress and aspire for good things.
Referring to the school’s motto, “Labour First, Pleasure Next,” the Minister praised its relevance and urged students to adopt it with commitment in their studies, hard work, and family responsibilities. He emphasized that education is power, and that Mizoram is blessed with strong human resources. Teachers, being the creators of these human resources, play a critical role, he noted, urging them to guide children with dedication, nurture them in diverse fields, and help shape disciplined and responsible individuals. He conveyed his good wishes for joyful Jubilee celebrations this year and many more in the future.
During the function, Headmistress Lalhlimthangi Khiangte, who served as the chairperson, delivered welcome remarks and conveyed gratitude to the chief guest and invitees. Teacher Vanlalchhana Hmar presented a detailed report on the Golden Jubilee arrangements. Director of School Education, Angela Zothanpuii, released the Golden Jubilee Souvenir titled Tlaizawng and addressed the gathering.
Former students shared their experiences and memories, while the event also featured songs and various cultural performances. The Minister later participated in group photographs with the attendees.
The celebrations will continue tomorrow, with Champhai North MLA Er. H. Ginzalala scheduled to attend as the chief guest.
