Five Police Officers Get Special Promotion Under Sports Quota; CM Bhajan Lal Honors Asian & Commonwealth Games Medalists

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to promoting sports and athletes, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday approved special promotions for five police officers under the sports quota.

Sub-Inspectors Sushma Sharma, Pooja, Nidhi Sharma, and Sachin have been promoted to the rank of Inspector, while Platoon Commander (RAC) Muskan Malik has been elevated to Company Commander. These promotions are in line with the anticipated vacancies for the year 2025-26.

Sushma Sharma, Nidhi Sharma, Muskan Malik, and Sachin won gold medals in Kabaddi at the 19th Asian Games held in China in 2022. Meanwhile, Pooja secured a bronze medal in Wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the United Kingdom.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma congratulated all the athletes, stating that the state government is committed to providing deserving recognition and opportunities to players who deliver outstanding performances. He noted that their dedication and hard work have brought pride to both the state and the nation. He added that these promotions not only honor their sporting achievements but also serve as an inspiration for other athletes.

Special Promotion Provisions:

These promotions have been granted under Rule 28(B) of the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989, and based on the recommendations of the committee of officers outlined in the Director General of Police Rajasthan’s Permanent Order 7/2024. Under the special promotion provisions, athletes who win medals in Asian and Commonwealth Games are eligible for advancement to the next rank.

The proposals for these promotions were sent by the Additional Director General of Police (Recruitment & Promotion Board) and reviewed by the Reward Committee, which, after thorough examination, recommended the approvals.

This initiative highlights Rajasthan Police’s focus on encouraging excellence in sports and ensuring that medal-winning athletes receive due recognition and career advancement for their achievements.
