Special Session on Mineral Sector at ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas 2025’ to Discuss Mineral Potential in Rajasthan for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’

Jaipur, Dec 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government will organize a special session on the mineral sector during ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas 2025’ at JECC, Jaipur on 10th December 2025.

The session, titled “Unlocking Rajasthan’s Critical Mineral Potential for Atmanirbhar Bharat”, will bring together experts from various industries to discuss the optimal use of Rajasthan’s mineral wealth for national industrial development and achieving the strategic goals of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

During the session, Sanjay Singh, Director of Geological Survey of India (GSI), will provide detailed information about Rajasthan’s critical minerals, the state’s geological potential, recent discoveries, and emerging opportunities in mineral exploration.

Dr. B.S. Murthy, Director of IIT Hyderabad, will share insights on the importance of collaboration between industry, government, and academia to enhance India’s self-reliance in metals. He will explain how cooperation among these three sectors can accelerate innovations in the metals domain, supporting the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Continuing this discussion, Mr. Ajay Agrawal, Chairman of Odisha Chapter, Rajasthan Foundation and Managing Director of J Minerals, will speak on the role of the Rajasthani diaspora in mineral sector development and emerging opportunities in Rajasthan.

Additionally, Mr. Rajneesh Arvind Khale, Director of IREL (India) Limited, will provide information on the extraction and processing of critical minerals. Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director of IIT (IISM) Dhanbad and Project Director of Texmin Mining Technology Innovation Hub, will present studies on the presence of critical mineral elements in old dumping yards.

A special panel of experts will also discuss “Investment Opportunities for Pravasi Rajasthanis in the Critical Minerals Sector.” Panel members include:

  • Dr. Ranjit Rath, Managing Director, Oil India Limited
  • Shri Kishore Kumar, COO, Hindustan Zinc Limited

  • Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, IIT (IISM) Dhanbad & Texmin Hub
  • Shri Vikram Golcha, Former President, CII
  • Shri Akshaydeep Mathur, Secretary General, Federation of Mining Associations of Rajasthan

The session will facilitate meaningful discussions on collaboration and innovations to accelerate Rajasthan’s development and contribute to achieving the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. It will also explore how Rajasthan, with its vast geological resources and growing scientific capabilities, can emerge as a leader in the country’s critical minerals sector.
