Jaipur Authorities Seize 740 Cylinders in Major Anti-Illegal Gas Raids

Jaipur, Dec 2025 : Under the directions of Jaipur District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the District Supply Office, Jaipur First, carried out a major operation against illegal gas refilling under “Operation Enforcement.” On Tuesday, significant action was taken against unauthorized storage and illegal refilling of commercial gas cylinders in residential areas of Jaipur city.

District Supply Officer Jaipur First, Shri Priyavrat Singh Charan, formed a special vigilance team and conducted raids at Sukhdevpura Nataniwala, 12 Mile, Shriram Ki Nangal, and Sanganer. During the operation, approximately 740 commercial gas cylinders were found stored illegally in densely populated residential areas, with many cylinders kept openly on vehicles and rooftops.

Illegal refilling equipment, including 2 electronic weighing scales, 5 gas furnaces, 5 vessels, gas transfer pipes, regulators, and a large number of seals and caps, were also seized. These items were hidden among animal fodder. One unauthorized vehicle and an unregistered pickup used for illegal operations were also recovered.

Three individuals were arrested on the spot, who revealed during questioning that the cylinders belonged to Anika Gas Agency, Muhana, and Brilliant Gas Agency, Bagru. Illegal receipt books were also seized. Two inquiry teams have been formed to investigate the involvement of both agencies and have been directed to submit a report within 48 hours.

Action has been taken against the offenders under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000, and Sections 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Additionally, a mobile phone of one accused was seized for further investigation. The district administration has warned that illegal refilling centers increase the risk of serious accidents in the city, and strict action will continue against them.
