Maharashtra Raj Bhavan Renamed as ‘Lok Bhavan’

Mumbai, Dec 2025 : Following guidelines from the Central Government, the Maharashtra Raj Bhavan has been officially renamed ‘Maharashtra Lok Bhavan’. Governors of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, have issued directions to the Raj Bhavan Secretariat regarding this change.

The Governor stated that this decision is a step toward making the Raj Bhavan more people-oriented, transparent, and dedicated to public welfare.

Now recognized as ‘Lok Bhavan’, the Raj Bhavan is expected not just to serve as the residence and office of the Governor but also as a hub for dialogue and engagement with the citizens of the state, including students, researchers, farmers, and civil society organizations.

The Governor emphasized that Lok Bhavan should act as a bridge of service, cooperation, and communication between the government and the people of the state.

He further clarified that Lok Bhavan will not remain limited to constitutional duties alone but will genuinely embody a connection with society, remaining sensitive to the aspirations, concerns, and problems of the people.
