Pahargaon and Kumeli waterfall tourist area will be developed
Efforts are being made to develop the tourism sector as per the wishes of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. With a view to tourism development in Surajpur district, the previous construction work in Kumeli waterfall under Ramanujnagar district and Pahargaon areas under Surajpur district is in progress.
It is worth mentioning that Pahargaon is an area located near Ambikapur Road, Silfili in Surajpur district where a lake has been formed by the construction of Khokhaniya Dam. The lake situated between the mountains creates a picturesque and attractive view in a peaceful environment. In view of the possibility of tourism development at the place, the administration is providing all the facilities along with the development of the access road here.
For the development of the area, security of tourists, availability of food and drinking water, hut pagoda construction, waste management, toilet facilities are being provided. Apart from this, an action plan has also been asked to be made regarding starting boating facility in the lake. The district administration has also directed the concerned officials for the development of Kumeli waterfall area.
The district administration has given instructions for waste management, security arrangements including warning boards, drinking water facility, construction of hut pagoda. They also directed for the repair of solar lights and constructed toilets here. Kumeli waterfall is located about 30 kilometers away from Surajpur. It can be reached from Surajpur district headquarter via Ketka road and Rajapur road. Kumeli waterfall is located in the middle of a dense forest. It is about 50 feet high waterfall which creates an even more attractive and enchanting view during the rainy season.
