CM Bhajanlal Sharma to Inaugurate Firozpur Feeder Reconstruction at Ganganahar Centenary
Jaipur, Dec 2025: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will visit Shri Ganganagar on Friday, Dec 5, 2025, to participate in the Ganganahar Centenary celebrations. During the visit, he will lay the foundation for the reconstruction of the Firozpur Feeder, covering RD 0 to 168.230, including CC lining, reconstruction of head and cross regulators, VRB/DRB units, and railway crossing bridges.
The project will channel more water from Harike Barrage into the Firozpur Feeder, benefiting 3.14 lakh hectares under Ganganahar and enhancing crop production. The 2024-25 budget allocated ₹200 crore for the reconstruction, with total project cost ₹647.62 crore—Punjab contributing ₹379.12 crore and Rajasthan ₹268.50 crore.
The centenary marks 100 years since Maharaja Ganga Singh laid the foundation of Ganganahar on Dec 5, 1925. The reconstruction will increase the feeder’s water-carrying capacity and directly benefit farmers in the region.
