Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Observes Armed Forces Flag Day
Aizawl, Dec 2025: The Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Resettlement, Aizawl, observed Armed Forces Flag Day today at the Sainik Welfare Offices located in four districts of Mizoram. This day has been observed across India every year on December 7 since 1949. As December 7 falls on a holiday this year, the observance was held today as per the approval of the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram.
On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, donations are collected from the general public and well-wishers to provide assistance to the families of martyrs, disabled soldiers, destitute veterans, ex-servicemen and their dependents. Today, donations were collected from the Governor’s Secretariat, the Chief Minister’s Office, the Deputy Speaker, Ministers, the Chief Secretary and Secretaries of various departments, amounting to a total of Rs. 41,310/-. In addition, it is expected that further contributions will be received through the collection drives and sale of Flag Day materials conducted by the four District Sainik Welfare Offices.
The Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Department has expressed its sincere gratitude to all donors who generously contributed and to all those who accepted the Flag Day materials, as well as to all ex-servicemen who selflessly continue to serve society.
