Transport Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap Inspects IDTR

Raipur, December 2025 : Transport Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap today inspected the IDTR (Institute of Driving Training and Research) located in Naya Raipur. During the inspection, Transport Secretary Mr. S. Prakash, Joint Transport Commissioner Mr. U.B.S. Chauhan, and other departmental officials were present.

During the inspection, officials briefed Minister Kashyap on the operations of IDTR, the training system, the automobile lab, and the training provided through vehicle simulators. They also demonstrated the process of testing drivers’ skills through classroom and lab training as well as on the driving e-track. Additionally, driving tests were conducted using motorcycles and heavy vehicles.

Minister Kashyap interacted with drivers who had come from various districts of the state for training. The drivers stated that the institute provides them not only with vehicle operation skills but also basic technical knowledge, improved driving skills, and important information about the Motor Vehicle Act and its rules.

The minister instructed transport officials to encourage as many drivers as possible from Raipur and surrounding districts to attend training and refresher courses. He emphasized that drivers whose licenses are suspended due to violations of the Motor Vehicle Act should be mandatorily trained at IDTR to help reduce road accidents. Furthermore, Mr. Kashyap directed that regular training and refresher courses for school bus drivers should be continuously conducted.

The minister also stated that driving tests for driver recruitment in various state government departments should be conducted through IDTR, ensuring the selection of skilled drivers by utilizing the institute’s advanced facilities.
