Lunglei District Disposal Committee Destroys Heroin (No. 4) Worth ₹5,28,810

Lunglei, December 2025: This afternoon, the Lunglei District Disposal Committee (DCC) destroyed 176.15 grams of heroin No. 4 (valued at ₹5,28,810) at the Lunglei AP Tlanga Incinerator Centre. The disposal was carried out under the leadership of the Committee Chairman, Pu J. Lalmuankima, Superintendent of Police, Lunglei District.

Members present during the destruction included the Lunglei Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), the Assistant Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics, and the Lunglei Sub-Divisional Police Officer.

The heroin destroyed today was seized in connection with the following cases:

• Lunglei PS Case No. 154/2025 dated 27.09.2025 under Section 21(b) of the ND&PS Act
• LLI PS Case No. 158/2025 dated 02.10.2025 under Sections 21(b)/29 of the ND&PS Act
• LLI PS Case No. 159/2025 dated 02.10.2025 under Section 21(b) of the ND&PS Act

The destruction (pre-trial disposal) was carried out with prior approval granted by the Judicial Magistrate First Class-I, Lunglei.
