Deputy Chief Minister praised the cultural heritage and contribution of the tribal community
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma participated in the World Tribal Day program organized in Taregaon Jungle and Rengakhar village of Kabirdham district.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma today attended the World Tribal Day program organized at Eklavya Adarsh Residential School Campus and Village Rengakhar in the remote forest village Taregaon Jungle of tribal and Baiga dominated Bodla development block of Kabirdham district. The program was inaugurated by offering flowers and lighting lamps on the oil paintings of Chhattisgarh Mahtari, Veer Shaheed Gundadhur, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh and Dharti Aaba Birsa Munda. On reaching the World Tribal Day program organized in village Taregaon Jungle, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma was welcomed by applying pheta (turban), kalgi, chhit and tilak, the special identity of the tribal tradition. The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the cultural heritage of the tribal community and their contribution in the program. He expressed his commitment towards the tribal rights and the efforts being made for their development and emphasized on the protection and promotion of tribal culture.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma congratulated and wished on World Tribal Day. He said that today all of us people of this society have come together on World Tribal Day, this is a symbol of unity of our tribal society. Similarly, on 15 November, we will remember Dharti Aaba Birsa Munda together on his birth anniversary. While praising the heads of the society in this area, he said that it is a very commendable work to try to protect our society and our tradition by keeping our society united. He said that the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has decided that a public participation committee will be formed in all the ashram hostels operating in the state. This committee will include the parents of the children studying in the ashram hostel, public representatives and mothers of the children. The selection of members for the committee has started. The public participation committee will look after the arrangements of the ashram hostel. The committee will ensure that all facilities are available to the children. For this, the society has to work together.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma said that ANM, B.Sc. Nursing courses are being conducted for the young men and women of the special backward Baiga tribes. He said that the prominent people of the Baiga community should inspire the young men and women around them and tell them that all arrangements will be made for the young men and women who want to pursue ANM, B.Sc. Nursing courses. During this, the villagers applied to the Deputy Chief Minister regarding various demands and complaints. The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed all the applications and assured to fulfill them. In the program, Shri Santosh Patel, Shri Videshi Ram Dhurve, Shri Barsati Verma, Shri Ram Kinkar Verma, Shri Baldau Chandravanshi, Shri Jhumman Chandravanshi, Shri Naresh Chandravanshi, Shri Santram, Shri Sundar Lal Baiga, SDM Bodla Mrs. Geeta Raisth along with public representatives and officials of the society were present. The stage was conducted by Shri Lalmani Sonwani.
