Telangana to Launch ₹1,000-Crore Startup Fund, Aims to Build 100 Unicorns: CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad, Dec 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced the creation of a ₹1,000-crore startup fund to accelerate innovation, nurture product-based entrepreneurship, and position Hyderabad as a global hub for next-generation companies.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Google for Startups Hub at T-Hub — India’s largest startup incubator — he urged young entrepreneurs to dream big, innovate boldly, and “use this opportunity to become the next Google.”
The Chief Minister stressed that Telangana is committed to building a strong, future-ready startup ecosystem grounded in intellectual property creation, deep tech innovation, and long-term product development.
“Our government and Google have joined hands to create a powerful support system for startups in Telangana,” he said, adding that the new fund is meant to propel promising ventures into global markets.
Revanth Reddy recalled the inspiring journey of Google, calling it “one of the top startups in Hyderabad today” because of its significant presence in the city. “In 1998, two Stanford friends began Google in a California garage. Today, it is one of the world’s largest technology companies,” he noted.
He cited the examples of Google, Apple, Amazon, Tesla, and Facebook to show how small startups can evolve into trillion-dollar corporations. He added that many Hyderabad-based startups founded over the past two decades have grown rapidly in software services, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences.
“Hyderabad should not only be a startup hub — it should become a unicorn hub,” he declared. “We want at least 100 startups from Hyderabad to become unicorns, and by 2034, at least 10 should grow into super-unicorn companies worth over $10 billion.”
He tied the state’s ambitions to his broader economic vision: making Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Startups, he stressed, will be central drivers of that transformation.
Drawing parallels with sports, he said, “I play football. In football, you must work hard, practice hard, and function as a team. Ultimately, only winning matters. It’s the same with startups — effort, teamwork, and endurance define success.”
Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the launch of the Google for Startups Hub will further expand the state’s innovation ecosystem by strengthening startups not only in technology development but in their capacity to innovate sustainably.
Google announced that it will provide free, year-long coworking seats for selected AI-first startups, along with access to curated venture investors. The company, together with the Telangana government, will work to support AI-first startups, nurture talent, and build bridges to global markets.
As part of the worldwide Google for Startups network, the Hub will offer startups physical infrastructure, hands-on mentorship, AI tools, and international visibility. It is designed to support entrepreneurs at every stage — from idea to scale — helping them build responsible, globally competitive AI-first businesses from Hyderabad.
Team Maverick.
