Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Speaks at UNESCO ‘Samskriti’ Event at Red Fort
New Delhi, December 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta joined Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, India’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO Vishal V. Sharma, and Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Sandhya Purecha at ‘SAMSKRITI – A Celebration of Culture’, organised from 8 to 13 December at the historic Red Fort as part of the 20th Session of the UNESCO Inter-Governmental Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to bringing this honour to India and its 1.4 billion citizens. She said that this is an exceptionally significant day that will be remembered for a lifetime.
The Chief Minister highlighted the continuous efforts of the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in strengthening the nation and establishing India on the global stage not only as an economic and technological powerhouse, but also as a cultural powerhouse.
She extended her thanks to the Ministry of Culture particularly the Honourable Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for their dedicated efforts. She also conveyed her appreciation to the entire UNESCO team for supporting India’s proposal and helping secure the inscription of the grand festival of Diwali in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The Chief Minister conveyed her deep gratitude to all participants and contributors.
