PM Modi to Visit Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman Next Week to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
New Delhi, Dec 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour next week, starting with Jordan, followed by Ethiopia, and concluding in Oman.
PM Modi will arrive in Jordan on December 15 at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. During his two-day visit, he will hold talks with the King to review the full spectrum of India-Jordan relations and exchange views on regional developments. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted that the visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, providing an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, explore new avenues for mutual growth, and reaffirm the commitment to regional peace, security, and stability.
The second leg of the tour takes PM Modi to Ethiopia on December 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. This marks PM Modi’s first-ever visit to Ethiopia. The MEA highlighted that the discussions will cover all aspects of India-Ethiopia relations, emphasizing the nations’ partnership in the Global South and their shared commitment to advancing friendship and bilateral cooperation.
The final leg of the trip is a visit to Oman from December 17-18, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. India and Oman share a comprehensive Strategic Partnership, built on centuries-old friendship, trade linkages, and strong people-to-people connections. The visit will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations and follows the Sultan of Oman’s state visit to India in December 2023. During the visit, PM Modi and the Sultan will review bilateral ties across trade, investment, energy, defence, security, technology, agriculture, and culture, as well as exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Oman.
The MEA emphasized that the three-nation tour reflects India’s commitment to deepening strategic, economic, and cultural partnerships with key nations in the Middle East and Africa, and highlights the importance of fostering long-term regional cooperation and mutual prosperity.
