BJP Names Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin as National Working President After NDA Victory

Patna, Dec 14: Riding on the momentum of the NDA’s emphatic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has elevated senior Bihar minister Nitin Nabin to a key national role by appointing him as the party’s National Working President. The decision signals the BJP leadership’s strong confidence in his organisational acumen, administrative experience and long-standing commitment to the party’s ideology.

Party sources said the appointment reflects Nitin Nabin’s proven ability to combine grassroots mobilisation with effective governance. Widely regarded as a disciplined party organiser and a dedicated social worker in Patna, he enjoys a reputation that sets him apart from many leaders of his generation. His deep engagement with social causes and public outreach has helped him build sustained connect with people across sections.

For the past 14 years, Nitin Nabin has played a central role in organising large-scale Ram Navami celebrations in the Bihar capital through the Shri Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Samiti. The annual event has grown into a major cultural and social occasion, drawing participation from senior constitutional and political dignitaries, including the Governor and the Chief Minister, and reinforcing his stature as a mass leader.

The son of senior BJP leader late Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, Nitin Nabin hails from the Kayastha community. His political journey reflects steady growth rooted in organisational work and sustained engagement at the grassroots. Rather than a sudden rise, his career has been marked by gradual progression through various party and government responsibilities.

Nitin Nabin was first elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Patna West constituency in 2006. In 2010, he shifted to the Bankipur Assembly constituency, which he has continued to represent since then, strengthening his base through consistent electoral success and active constituency work. His performance as an MLA earned him recognition within the party, paving the way for larger responsibilities.

In 2021, he was inducted into the Bihar cabinet for the first time and was assigned the crucial Road Construction Department. His tenure was widely appreciated for improved project execution, faster implementation and greater administrative efficiency. He later retained his position in successive NDA governments and emerged as one of the key ministers in the state. Currently, he holds charge of both the Road Construction and Urban Development departments, two portfolios central to Bihar’s infrastructure and urban growth.

Beyond governance, Nitin Nabin has been deeply involved in strengthening the BJP’s organisational framework. From 2010 to 2013, he served as National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). He later took over as the Bihar State President of the youth wing from 2016 to 2019, playing a vital role in energising young cadres and expanding the party’s footprint.

He has also been a member of the BJP’s National Executive Committee and served as Co-in-charge of BJYM at the national level. Recognising his organisational skills, the party entrusted him with responsibilities related to organisational building and election management in several states. One of the notable outcomes of his work was the BJP winning its first two MLAs in Sikkim during the period he was associated with organisational efforts there.

Adding to his profile, Nitin Nabin has international exposure, having participated in a 15-day International Visitor Leadership Program in the United States. Over the years, he has successfully organised numerous large-scale political and social programmes, further consolidating his standing within the party.

His elevation to a national position is being seen as a strategic move by the BJP to deploy a leader who blends administrative competence with strong grassroots connect, as the party prepares for upcoming political challenges at the national level.
