CBFC Clears Dileep–Vineeth Starrer ‘Bha Bha Ba’ with U/A Certificate

Chennai, Dec 2025 : Director Dhananjay Shankar’s much-anticipated action entertainer Bha Bha Ba—an acronym for Bhayam, Bhakthi, Bahumanam—has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate, paving the way for its theatrical release. The film stars Dileep and Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead roles and is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on December 18.

The certification announcement was officially made by the film’s production banner, Sree Gokulam Movies, through its social media platforms. Sharing the update, the production house confirmed that the film has been certified U/A (13+), adding to the growing excitement among fans eagerly awaiting its release. The post also reiterated the release date and highlighted the film’s central themes of fear, faith and respect, while teasing the “world of madness” that audiences can expect.

Interest in Bha Bha Ba has been particularly high not only because it marks Dileep’s return to the big screen, but also due to the presence of superstar Mohanlal in a special cameo appearance. The makers recently released a trailer that quickly went viral, drawing attention for its tone, content and timing. Notably, the trailer was unveiled just days after a court cleared Dileep of all charges in the actress assault case that had shaken the Malayalam film industry.

The trailer opens on an intriguing note, with Vineeth Sreenivasan’s character inserting an audio cassette into a tape recorder. A voice is heard saying, “You must have figured out who I am by now because my face has been put up in every nook and corner of this state.” Soon after, Dileep’s character is introduced, delivering a line that has resonated strongly with viewers: “This was the moment I was waiting for—my comeback moment.”

Packed with stylised action and generous doses of humour, the trailer hints at a fast-paced narrative with emotional undercurrents. It also suggests a strong bond between the characters played by Dileep and Mohanlal, with flashback portions expected to explore their friendship in depth. Mohanlal’s cameo as Dileep’s close friend has further fuelled expectations, making the film one of the most talked-about Malayalam releases of the year.

Apart from the lead cast, Bha Bha Ba features an ensemble of prominent actors including Dhyan Sreenivasan, Sandy, Balu Varghese, Baiju Santhosh, Saranya Ponvannan, Sidharth Bharathan and Redin Kingsley. The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan and Krishnamoorthy, with Baiju Gopalan and V.C. Praveen serving as co-producers.

Music for the film has been composed by Shaan Rahman, while the background score is by Gopi Sundar. Cinematography is handled by Armo and editing by Ranjan Abraham. The story has been written by Fahim Safar and Noorin Shereef. With strong buzz, a star-studded cast and a high-voltage narrative, Bha Bha Ba is set to be a major theatrical attraction this December.
