“Sahibzadas’ Courage at a Young Age Will Inspire Generations: CM Vishnu Deo Sai”

Raipur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the example of courage and glory set by the Sahibzadas at such a young age will continue to inspire generations. Introducing the new generation to the glorious history of sacrifice and duty is our moral responsibility, he added.

The Chief Minister participated in the Veer Bal Rally and flagged off the rally to mark its beginning.

More than 5,000 school students took part in the historic rally with adventurous performances and grand tableaux.

Chief Minister Sai attended the Veer Bal Rally organised by the Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission. He flagged off the rally from Marine Drive in the state capital Raipur. Over 5,000 school students, scout-guides, and NCC cadets participated in the grand rally. The event included courageous activities such as Gatka — showcasing Sikh valour — along with cultural performances and inspiring tableaux that emotionally moved the gathered crowd.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Sai said that on December 26, we commemorate Veer Bal Diwas in honour of the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Sahibzadas — Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. He said that at the tender ages of only 9 and 7, the Sahibzadas demonstrated extraordinary courage, faith, and sacrifice — an example unmatched in human history.

The Chief Minister said that even at such a young age, the Sahibzadas did not bow to pressure, did not waver in their faith, and gave the supreme sacrifice to uphold religion and truth. This sacrifice is not only an inspiration for the Sikh community but for all humanity. He said that this glorious tradition of the Sikh faith is a matter of pride for everyone. Introducing the younger generation to the values and sacrifice of the Sahibzadas is our moral duty.

He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to observe Veer Bal Diwas at the national level since 2022 is highly commendable, as it has strengthened the spirit of valour, courage, and patriotism among children and youth.

The Chief Minister said that when we look at the lives of the Sahibzadas, we feel proud of the teachings and values bestowed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa Panth and showed the path to resist injustice and oppression. His inspiring lines — “Sava lakh se ek ladāū̃, chiṛiyā̃ te main bāz laḍāū̃, tabai Gobind Singh nām kahāū̃” — continue to awaken courage and the spirit of struggle in every Indian.

He said these lines teach us that victory comes not from resources, but from courage and determination. India is blessed to be the land that gave birth to such great Gurus and Sahibzadas. He congratulated the Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission and the Education Department for organising this historic event.

Cabinet Minister Khushwant Saheb said that the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas teaches us fearlessness, integrity, and the spirit of putting the nation first. Their lives are an inspiration for every generation.

Chairman of the State Minority Commission Amarjeet Chhabra shared historical accounts of the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom with the audience.

MLA Purandar Mishra, CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Sawanni, CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaskey, State Child Protection Commission Chairperson Dr. Varnika Sharma, senior representatives of the Sikh community, social workers, and officials from various organisations were present in large numbers.
