Gadchiroli’s Journey from Fear to Development – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Gadchiroli Will Be Among Maharashtra’s Top Five Districts in the Next Ten Years

Gadchiroli, Dec 2025 : Owing to the courage and sustained efforts shown by the Gadchiroli Police Force over the past few years, a rule of development, people, and the Constitution—rather than fear—has now been firmly established in Gadchiroli, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. As a testament to this transformation, the Gadchiroli Festival has begun and has emerged as a rightful platform of expression and participation for the citizens of the district. Through art, sports, public awareness, dance, music, and entertainment, social awakening and cultural integration are being promoted, the Chief Minister stated.

Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking at the cultural programme of the Gadchiroli Festival, organized on the initiative of the Gadchiroli Police Department. On the occasion, Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Agriculture, Relief and Rehabilitation, Law and Justice, and Labour, and Co-Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli, Ashish Jaiswal; Minister of State for Home (Rural), Housing, School Education, Cooperation, and Mining, Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar; Additional Director General of Police (Special Operations) Chering Dorje; Special Inspector General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sandeep Patil; District Collector Avishayant Panda; Superintendent of Police Nilotpal; MLA Dharmaraobaba Atram; MLA Dr. Milind Narote; Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University, Dr. Prashant Bokare; and Managing Director of Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited, Balasubramaniam Prabhakaran, were prominently present.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the Gadchiroli Police Force, on one hand, fought a decisive battle against Maoism and has almost completely freed the district from its grip, while on the other hand, through a people-centric approach and coordination with the revenue administration, ensured that various state government schemes reached even the remotest corners of the district.

“Today, Gadchiroli district has taken a leap forward. The district is making rapid progress in every sector such as education, health, employment, industry, and environment. In the next ten years, Gadchiroli will be among the top five districts in Maharashtra,” the Chief Minister said, expressing confidence. He further clarified that the Maharashtra Government is committed to developing Gadchiroli as a gateway to South India in the coming years.

On this occasion, winners of various cultural competitions were felicitated by the Chief Minister. The introductory address was delivered by Superintendent of Police Shri Nilotpal.
A large number of public representatives, officers, and citizens were present at the programme.
