National Road Safety Month 2026 to Begin on January 1
A Series of Programmes to Be Organised for Public Awareness
Bike Rally to Be Held in Raipur on January 1
Raipur, December 2025: With the objective of creating awareness among people about the seriousness, challenges, and rules of road safety, National Road Safety Month 2026 will be observed across Chhattisgarh and the entire country from January 1 to January 31, 2026. During this period, extensive public awareness programmes related to road safety will be organised in all districts of the state.
As part of Road Safety Month, districts will host a wide range of activities, including road safety training programmes, health check-up and eye examination camps, School Day programmes, slogan writing, essay writing, painting and quiz competitions for school students, training for e-rickshaw, auto and bus drivers, ambulance driving training, inspection and maintenance of vehicle fitness and radium strips, rallies highlighting the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol, public awareness programmes in village chaupals, identification of accident-prone locations, and training of road safety volunteers. In addition, programmes for youth based on the theme “Healthy Body – Healthy Mind, Safe Citizens” through aerobics and Zumba sessions will be organised. Helmet-wearing drivers will be encouraged through the distribution of toffees, along with various other activities designed according to local conditions.
On January 1, 2026, a helmet and bike rally will be organised near Circuit House, Raipur, at 5:00 pm for public awareness, in the presence of Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, Chairman of the Supreme Court Road Safety Committee. The rally will convey the message of adherence to road safety rules, helmet use, and safe driving practices.
Marathon Organised in Bhilai for Public Awareness
In the same sequence of events, a marathon organised in Bhilai on Sunday was flagged off by Sanjay Sharma, Chairman of Road Safety Chhattisgarh. Following the marathon, a street play based on road safety was staged, which received appreciation from the public.
