Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Visits Ayodhya on the Second Anniversary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir

Ayodhya, December 31 2025 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, visited Ayodhya today to participate in the second anniversary celebrations of the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Lord Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir.

On this sacred occasion, the Defence Minister first offered prayers at Hanumangarhi and then visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir to pay respects to Lord Ram Lalla. Amid chanting of mantras, he installed a Dharma Dhwaja (religious flag) atop the Shikhara of the Maa Annapurna temple within the temple complex.

Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh expressed his emotions, saying, “It feels as if I have received everything I ever wished for in life. The Raghavendra government chose me for this moment, and I am privileged to be part of this occasion.”

He added that every street and corner of Ayodhya, and indeed the entire country, is imbued with the presence of Lord Ram. Highlighting the historical significance, he said, “Two years ago, when Lord Shri Ram was re-consecrated here, it was a historic moment of pride for all Indians. Today, Lord Ram’s glory adorns not only India but the entire world. Ayodhya’s Kanak Bhavan, Dashrath Mahal, Hanumangarhi, and the banks of the Sarayu are resplendent, and this aura extends far beyond Ayodhya to the entire nation.”

Rajnath Singh described the Ram Mandir movement as the world’s grandest narrative, emphasizing its uniqueness in both geography and time. He noted that people from countries such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand, including communities beyond Hindus, identify with Lord Ram. The 500-year-long non-violent struggle stands unmatched in history.

He also highlighted the developmental transformation of Ayodhya, with improvements in air connectivity, rail and road networks, industry, and commerce. The Defence Minister praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for guiding this growth and development.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he drew parallels with Lord Ram’s teachings of upholding Dharma even in war, stating, “Just as Lord Ram taught us to maintain principles during battle, our forces carried out limited, controlled, and purposeful actions to teach terrorists a lesson.”

Concluding his address, Rajnath Singh prayed, “As long as the sun and moon exist in the sky, may this Dharma Dhwaja of eternal faith continue to fly high. May Lord Ram guide us all on the path of duty.”
