Yogi govt to build nurses’ hostel at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, at the cost of Rs 30.31 crore

Lucknow : In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure, the Yogi government will construct a 100-seater hostel for married nurses at the newly built Super Specialty Hospital in Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur. The project, which will cost Rs 30 crore 31 lakh 35 thousand (Rs 30,31,35000), aims to provide essential housing facilities for the nursing staff.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for the hostel at the BRD Medical College recently. In a swift follow-up, the government released an initial installment of Rs 2.47 crore on August 13 to commence the construction.

This initiative is part of CM Yogi’s broader strategy to enhance healthcare services and infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh. His efforts include the successful elimination of encephalitis in Gorakhpur and the recognition of Baba Raghav Das Medical College.

Under his leadership, the concept of ‘Ayushman Uttar Pradesh’ has been advanced through the ‘One District, One Medical College’ program, further solidifying his commitment to improving medical facilities in the state.

Notably, on August 3, the Chief Minister had given the gift of many schemes to Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur. He inaugurated the newly installed CT scan machine, OPD of Genetic Medicine, OPD of Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Milk Bank, Sample Collection Center in Microbiology Department, Fully Automatic Tissue Processor in Pathology Department, Fully Automatic Urine Analyzer, 5 Part Simex CBC Analyzer and Alignity Machine of Tumor Maker Hormone Deduction of New Advanced Technology and increase in the range of IHC panel at a cost of Rs 7 crore 17 lakh.

In addition to these facilities, CM Yogi also inaugurated a new burn unit at a cost of Rs 6 crore 12 lakh 62 thousand, expansion/construction for the Pharmacy College at Rs 8 crore 5 lakh 7 thousand, and the establishment of a National Emergency Life Support Lab for Rs 2 crore 67 lakh 79 thousand. A new lithotripsy machine costing Rs 11.25 lakh and a boundary wall for the stadium at Rs 97 lakh 90 thousand were also part of the announced improvements.
