Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today offered prayers with due rituals at the Shri Ram–Janaki Temple located at Sirkatti Dham Ashram in Gariaband district, and prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of the state. On this occasion, he formally hoisted the religious flag (Dharma Dhwaja) on the highest spire of the temple. Describing the ashram as a centre of social harmony, cultural renaissance, and spiritual awakening, the Chief Minister announced a financial assistance of ₹50 lakh for the construction of a Samrasta Bhavan (Harmony Hall) within the ashram परिसर.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai said that following the construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a wave of spiritual consciousness has spread across the country, and the installation of the religious flag at Sirkatti Dham represents a continuation of that unbroken spiritual tradition. He stated that India is a sacred land of sages, saints, and spiritual traditions, and that religion should be embraced not only as faith but also as a duty.

The Chief Minister said it is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh that Lord Shri Ram spent a major part of his exile in this region. The vast forest of Abujhmad, known as Dandakaranya, was once affected by Naxalism but is now rapidly becoming free from it. He informed that under the Shri Ram Lalla Ayodhya Dham Darshan Scheme, more than 39,000 devotees have so far been provided free pilgrimage to Ayodhya. Additionally, over 5,000 devotees have benefited under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Darshan Scheme.

Chief Minister Sai further stated that development works of the five Shakti Peeths in the state are progressing steadily. He said that an amount of ₹148 crore has been approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme for the comprehensive development of the Bhoramdev region, and a proposal has also been sent for the development of Ratanpur. He added that the Rajim Kumbh Kalp will be organized in a grand manner this year.

Highlighting public participation, the Chief Minister said the grand structure of the Shri Ram–Janaki Temple is a remarkable example of collective effort. Built at a cost of approximately ₹9 crore with the cooperation of nearly 22,000 families, the temple is the result of a decade-long spiritual endeavour. Constructed in a traditional architectural style by artisans from Rajasthan, without the use of cement or iron rods, the temple is estimated to have a lifespan of around one thousand years. Expressing gratitude to all donors and devotees who contributed to the construction, he described the temple as a symbol of faith and unity of Chhattisgarh.

On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao termed the hoisting of the religious flag a historic moment, stating that it symbolizes not merely a traditional ceremony but the establishment of religion, spirituality, and social harmony in Chhattisgarh.

Cabinet Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb said that witnessing the installation of the religious flag at Sirkatti Dham was a divine and extraordinary experience for everyone. In his welcome address, Mahant Sant Govardhan Sharan Vyas, Mahamandaleshwar of Sirkatti Ashram, spoke about the establishment and significance of the ashram.
