Orientation Programme for Candidates Selected to Work in Japan under LESDE Initiative

Aizawl, January 2026: Today, the Director of the Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (LESDE) Department, Pu John Tanpuia, attended a brief orientation and send-off programme for candidates selected to work in Japan. The group included three candidates selected for caregiver jobs and one candidate selected for employment in the hotel management sector.

The programme was also attended by the Joint Director, Deputy Director, and the NSDC State Coordinator.

The candidates selected to work in Japan have completed Japanese language training at the NSDCI Training Centre in Greater Noida. At present, a total of nine candidates are ready to proceed to Japan, while around 57 candidates are awaiting Certificates of Eligibility (COE) and visa clearance. These candidates are expected to travel to Japan between January and March.
