Tata Mumbai Marathon Embodies the Spirit of Mumbaikars – Deepak Kesarkar
Mumbai : School Education Minister and Guardian Minister of Mumbai, Deepak Kesarkar, stated that the Tata Mumbai Marathon represents the true spirit of Mumbaikars.
He made this remark while inaugurating the registration for the Tata Mumbai Marathon at Hotel Trident. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, and organizers of the Tata Mumbai Marathon were also present on the occasion.
Minister Kesarkar highlighted that the Mumbai Marathon is an annual international event held on the third Sunday of January. Known as the Tata Mumbai Marathon due to sponsorship by the Tata Group, it is Asia’s largest marathon and the continent’s biggest mass sports event.
“We take pride in hosting a world-class competition in Mumbai,” said Kesarkar. “The event is organized on the city’s main streets, and with the development of the coastal road, Mumbai is continually advancing.”
Minister Bhujbal added that the Tata Mumbai Marathon is an international competition that attracts renowned artists, athletes, and business leaders from various fields. He acknowledged the efforts of the state government, municipal corporation, police, and all other systems involved in making the event a success.
Assembly Speaker Narvekar noted that the Tata Mumbai Marathon is a unique event, reflecting Mumbai’s status not only as the financial capital of India but also as a hub for global activities like this marathon. He expressed that Mumbai is well-prepared for the event, scheduled for January 19, 2025, and congratulated the organizers while urging everyone to participate and support the marathon.
The promoters of Asia’s most prestigious marathon announced that registration for the event will open on August 14, 2024, at 7 am on the official website: www.tatamumbaimarathon.procam.in.
