Women Power at the Core of Developed India: CM Bhajanlal Sharma in Pre-Budget Dialogue with Students
Jaipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is moving forward with the resolve of a Developed India, with women power at its very centre. He said that the double-engine government has linked women’s empowerment to every stage of life—right from motherhood to education, from education to livelihood, and from livelihood to a dignified, safe and self-reliant life.

The Chief Minister was interacting with girl students interested in the social sector during a pre-Budget dialogue at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday. He said that motherhood is the foundation from which a healthy society begins. With this thought, the Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana has been effectively implemented in the state, benefiting around 10 lakh women. Under the scheme, the assistance amount has been increased to ₹6,500.
Over 12 lakh women become ‘Lakhpati Didis’
The Chief Minister said that women’s empowerment is truly realised only when women are equipped with skills, provided opportunities to progress, and become financially self-reliant. With this objective, nearly 20 lakh women in the state have been trained through various skill development and livelihood programmes. He added that more than 12 lakh women in the state have already become Lakhpati Didis.
Distribution of 10.5 lakh bicycles and 40,000 scooters to girls
Shri Sharma said that to secure the birth, education and future of daughters, the assistance amount under the Lado Protsahan Yojana has been increased to ₹1.5 lakh. He said that so far, more than 10.5 lakh bicycles and around 40,000 scooters have been distributed to girls. He also stated that the government is providing LPG cylinders to needy women at ₹450.
Government jobs provided on over one lakh posts
The Chief Minister said that providing employment to youth is among the top priorities of the state government. Over the past two years, government jobs have been provided on more than one lakh posts. In addition, recruitment processes are underway for more than 1.5 lakh posts across various cadres. He further informed that over 3.3 lakh youths in the state have been given skill training so that they can become self-reliant and access better opportunities in the private sector as well.
Paper leaks curbed, transparent recruitments underway
Shri Sharma said that the government is continuously working towards its resolve of providing four lakh government jobs in five years. In this sequence, appointment letters were given to newly selected constables on January 10, of whom more than 2,500 were women, which he described as a matter of pride. He said that while paper leaks occurred during the previous government’s tenure, there have been no such incidents in the past two years, and recruitment processes are being conducted with complete transparency.

Women’s role crucial in building a self-reliant India
The Chief Minister said that women must contribute actively to building an Atmanirbhar Bharat. Rajasthan has immense employment potential in tourism, industry and other sectors, where women can play a significant role. He said women can also set new benchmarks in startups and marketing. He extended advance greetings for Youth Day to be celebrated on January 12 on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, calling him a source of inspiration for the youth. He recalled Swami Vivekananda’s belief that the 21st century would belong to India and said his message—“Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is achieved”—continues to inspire everyone.
Shri Sharma said that the development of the state will be complete only when daughters are educated, safe, self-reliant and filled with self-respect. Development is meaningful only when half the population is actively involved in it. He added that the suggestions received during the dialogue would prove extremely useful for policy-making.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Skill and Entrepreneurship Shri Sandeep Verma, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Vaibhav Galariya, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Shri Bhawani Singh Detha, senior officials of concerned departments, and a large number of girl students from technical and higher education institutions were present.
