Rajasthan Police Engage Youth as Brand Ambassadors on National Youth Day
Jaipur, Jan 2026: On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary and National Youth Day, the Rajasthan Police launched a historic public engagement initiative across the state. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the direction of Director General of Police Rajeev Sharma, special awareness programs for students and youth were organized at all police stations in Rajasthan on Monday, January 12.
Open houses at police stations connect students with policing:
DG Rajeev Sharma said the aim of this initiative is to eliminate fear and build trust in the police. Students from classes 9 to 12 in schools and college students were invited to police stations. Station Heads and Circle Officers explained police procedures, FIR registration, and key aspects of the new Criminal Code to the youth at the grassroots level.
Cybersecurity and road safety awareness:
During their visits, students were not only introduced to daily police operations but were also trained to face modern challenges. Police officers briefed them on online fraud prevention, traffic rules, life-saving practices, use of RajCop Citizen App and emergency helpline numbers, and children’s rights and protection.
Oath against substance abuse and creative competitions:
To keep youth away from social evils, special oath-taking ceremonies against substance abuse were conducted statewide. DG Sharma said this initiative is not limited to a single day; in the last week of January, police stations will organize essay, painting, and speech competitions in schools and colleges. Students with outstanding performances or effective presentations on policing will be rewarded to encourage their participation.
Youth as police brand ambassadors:
A key component of this initiative is training youth aged 18–25 as police brand ambassadors, modeled after Community Liaison Groups (CLGs). These ambassadors will serve as a strong bridge between the police and local communities, helping to strengthen police-community relations and promote a crime-free society.
Strengthening police-public engagement:
DG Sharma emphasized that youth are a reservoir of energy, and if guided properly, they can become an essential part of the social security system. Through these programs, the Rajasthan Police are committed to guiding youth toward a safe and crime-free future.
