Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet at Vibrant Gujarat Exhibition Draws Strong Global Interest, Generates Rs 500 Crore Export Inquiries
Rajkot, Jan 2026 : The Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet held at Hall No. 1 of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition (VGRE) has emerged as one of the most prominent attractions of the event, attracting strong international participation and delivering tangible business outcomes for Gujarat’s manufacturing and artisanal sectors.
The meet brought together 53 international buyers from 23 countries and more than 1,800 manufacturers and sellers from across Gujarat, creating a dynamic platform for direct engagement between global buyers and local producers. The initiative has been widely praised for enabling face-to-face interactions that shorten supply chains and open new export pathways for small and medium enterprises.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Suvidh Shah, Additional Director General of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), said the meet provides Gujarat-based manufacturers with a unique opportunity to directly access overseas markets. He noted that such platforms significantly enhance export readiness among local businesses and are expected to translate into substantial economic benefits for the state.
The Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet is being jointly organised by multiple institutions, including the Government of Gujarat’s iNDEXTb, the Office of the Industries Commissioner, the MSME Department, RAMP, FIEO, CAPEXIL, and the Gujarat Jewellery Promotion and Export Promotion Council (GJPEPC). The collaborative effort reflects a strong institutional push to strengthen Gujarat’s export ecosystem and integrate local industries with global value chains.
The meet covers a wide range of sectors, showcasing Gujarat’s industrial and artisanal diversity. Key focus areas include handloom and handicrafts, textiles, agri and food products, tiles and ceramics, engineering goods, automobiles, and gems and jewellery. This sectoral spread has enabled buyers to explore multiple sourcing opportunities under one roof.
International buyers participating in the meet have arrived from regions including the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia, Gulf countries, Australia, Africa, and Central Asia. In addition, 22 domestic buyers are also part of the programme, exploring sourcing and partnership opportunities within the country.
The business response has been particularly strong. Over 2,200 business-to-business (B2B) meetings were conducted over two days, leading to the signing of more than 1,000 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). Significantly, the meet has generated export inquiries valued at nearly Rs 500 crore, underlining the growing global demand for products manufactured in Gujarat.
The success of the meet is closely aligned with the broader vision of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, launched in 2003 by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi to revitalise the state’s economy after the 2001 earthquake. Over the years, the summit has evolved into a globally recognised economic platform, playing a pivotal role in positioning Gujarat as one of India’s leading manufacturing and export hubs.
