Initiative for IPL in Raipur: CM Receives Special Invitation from RCB
Raipur, January 2026 : The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) officially presented Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai with the team’s jersey and formally invited him to host the proposed IPL match in Raipur. On the occasion, RCB Vice President Shri Rajesh Menon and BCCI Joint Secretary Shri Prabhatej Singh Bhatia were also present.
Welcoming the initiative, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that hosting international-level sports events in Chhattisgarh will boost enthusiasm for sports among youth, strengthen sports infrastructure, and give the state a new identity on the national sports map. He added that the state government is committed to providing full support for promoting sports and nurturing young talent. This proposal is being seen as a significant step toward establishing Raipur as an emerging sports destination.
