CM Bhajanlal Sharma Inaugurates Kite Festival at Jal Mahal on Makar Sankranti

Jaipur, January 2026: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the Kite Festival at Jal Mahal, Jaipur. The Chief Minister himself flew kites, participating in the traditional celebrations of the festival.

He also visited the kite exhibition themed “Operation Sindoor” and interacted with folk artists to encourage their efforts. Extending greetings to the people of the state, the Chief Minister said that Makar Sankranti symbolizes the richness of India’s culture and traditions. Festivals like the kite festival strengthen local art, creativity, and social awareness while promoting tourism.

Following the CM’s directions, this year the kite festival was organized across all seven divisional levels and in Jaisalmer and Mount Abu. The event at Jal Mahal saw a vibrant display of colorful kites, traditional celebrations, and participation of domestic and international tourists.

The festival was attended by Deputy CM Diya Kumari, MLA Balamukund Acharya, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism Praveen Gupta, Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyad, other officials, and the general public.
