Saraswati Bicycle Scheme Provides Educational Support to Girl Students
Minister Laxmi Rajwade Distributes Bicycles to Schoolgirls
Raipur, January 2026 : Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade on Friday distributed bicycles to Class 9 girl students under the Saraswati Bicycle Scheme at programmes held at Government Higher Secondary Schools in Karwan and Latori, under the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency of Surajpur district. A total of 44 bicycles were distributed to students at Karwan school, while 102 bicycles were given to students at Latori school. A large number of students, parents and teachers were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade said the state government is committed to ensuring that no girl is deprived of education. She noted that providing bicycles in rural areas will make it easier for girls to commute to school, helping them continue their studies regularly and significantly reducing the dropout rate.
She further said that the good governance-oriented government is giving top priority to education and is continuously working towards the education, safety and empowerment of girls. The Saraswati Bicycle Scheme is an effective initiative aimed at making girls self-reliant and encouraging them to pursue higher education.
Several public representatives, school teachers, parents and eminent citizens of the area were present during the programme.
