Capacity Building on Functionality Assessment of Water Supply Held at Khawzawl

Khawzawl, January 2026: The District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) Committee, Khawzawl District, convened a training programme today, January 16, 2026, at the Electric Veng YMA Hall for WATSAN Committee Chairpersons and Village Council (VC) Secretaries from across Khawzawl District. The training programme was inaugurated by the Khawzawl District Administrator, Mr. K. Vanlalthiana, as the chief guest.

During the meeting, key information related to Rural Water Supply was reiterated, and detailed explanations were given on various government initiatives. The programme included sessions on different guidelines under the Jal Jeevan Mission, lessons from the handbook on Community Managed Piped Water System in Rural India (Jan-Bhagidari Se Har Ghar Jal), and an explanation of Community Self-Appraisal for Better Water Service Delivery (Payjal Seva Aankalan).

The responsibilities of VC Secretaries were also discussed in detail, along with guidance and training on filling out the Jal Seva Aankalan Form (V-8) and uploading it on the online portal. The programme aimed to strengthen community participation and improve the functionality and delivery of rural water supply services.
