Chief Secretary Reviews Jal Jeevan Mission in Mizoram
Aizawl, January 2026: A review meeting on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Mizoram was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena. The meeting of the State Water and Sanitation Mission Apex Committee took place at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, MINECO, to assess various initiatives being carried out in the state under the centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the works already completed as well as those currently in progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Mizoram. Issues and challenges affecting the timely completion of projects were discussed in detail, along with possible solutions to address them. The Chief Secretary emphasized that effective coordination and close cooperation among all concerned departments are essential to ensure the successful implementation of the JJM scheme.
At present, a total of 852 schemes are being implemented across Mizoram under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Through these schemes, functional tap water connections have already been provided to all households in hilly areas, as well as to all schools and rural Anganwadi Centres in the state.

Lalbiakzuali; Principal Adviser, Planning and Programme Implementation, Dr. Lalrinchhana; Joint Secretary, Finance Department, Pu Sailoliana Sailo; along with other senior officials.
