CM Dr. Yadav Inaugurates Newly Built ‘Nadbrahm Convention Centre’ Auditorium
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday attended the Silver Jubilee celebrations of R.D. Gardi Medical College as the Chief Guest. On the occasion, he also inaugurated the college’s newly constructed auditorium, the “Nadbrahm Convention Centre.” The auditorium has a seating capacity of 1,400, along with eight additional halls.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that since its establishment, R.D. Gardi Medical College has become an important part of the city. For the past 25 years, the college has been providing quality healthcare and medical education. Doctors trained here are bringing laurels to Ujjain at national and international levels. He stated that the institution has the distinction of being the first private medical college in the state. The state government, he added, is rapidly expanding medical institutions across Madhya Pradesh. Emphasising the role of doctors, he said they protect precious human lives and are therefore revered as being akin to God. The Chief Minister congratulated the institution on the new auditorium. He said that providing healthcare services is among the government’s top priorities. Talented students who are unable to afford medical education fees are being provided financial assistance by the state government. He also mentioned the Raahveer Scheme, launched to ensure that accident victims are taken to hospitals within the golden hour.
The event was presided over by former Union Minister Shri Satya Narayan Jatiya, who said he has a deep personal association with the college. Director V. K. Mahadik and Chairman Sudhir Gawariker welcomed the guests. Alumni Association President Gautam Bhagwat and Dean Milind Shiralkar were also present.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Gawariker said the day was a moment of pride for everyone, as R.D. Gardi Medical College is not only Ujjain’s but also the state’s first private medical college, envisioned by the late Shri Deep Chand Gardi. Alumni of the college are today serving across India and abroad. He added that the Nadbrahm Convention Centre will be highly useful for conferences and major events, and that a geriatric day-care centre for senior citizens will be started at the college in the coming days.
On the occasion, dignitaries released the college souvenir and inaugurated an AI Doctor facility. Certificates were also distributed to members of the institution for outstanding contributions.
A three-day Silver Jubilee celebration is being organised on the completion of 25 years of R.D. Gardi Medical College. The event includes a reunion of alumni from 2001 to 2025 along with current students. The celebrations will conclude on Monday, January 26.
As a special guest, the Director of Tata Memorial Centre, Kumar Prabhash, was present. Also present were District Panchayat President Kamla Kunwar, Vice President Shivani Kunwar, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and other distinguished citizens.
