Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that his government is committed to ensuring balanced development across the state. Ujjain, known as Avantika in ancient times, is a historic city whose trade, commerce and grandeur have been its pride and identity for centuries. The people of Ujjain have contributed to the city’s development through the ages and continue to make voluntary contributions towards its development and beautification. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Bhoomi Poojan and Inauguration ceremony for development works at Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain on Sunday. He performed bhoomi pujan and dedicated 15 development works worth ₹173 crore.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said Ujjain would soon also receive the gift of a metro rail service. The draft of Bhopal’s Master Plan has been published, he said. Gwalior will be developed as a new metropolitan city and is also being developed as a Telecom City.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that an industrial corridor is being developed from Indore to Bhopal and Jabalpur, which would accelerate industrial development across the state. He said the government is working with a spirit of service to ensure balanced development.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that new transport services have been launched under the Sugam Parivahan Seva. Under the initiative, passenger buses will operate not only between cities but also across state borders. For the convenience of devotees and tourists in Ujjain, 10 new PM e-bus services for Ujjain Darshan have also been launched.
Ujjain MP Shri Anil Firoziya, Rajya Sabha Member Bal Yogi Shri Umeshnath Maharaj, MP Dr. Lata Wankhede and Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal also addressed the programme. The public representatives said that Ujjain is witnessing all-round development under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and that the city is being developed and beautified in preparation for Simhastha.
Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board, Shri Om Jain; Chairman, Simhastha Authority, Shri Jagdish Agrawal; former MLA Shri Rajendra Bharti; Shri Sanjay Agrawal; Shri Jagdish Panchal and a large number of citizens were present. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and the dignitaries.
Ujjain to Get Development Works worth ₹173 Crore
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed Bhoomi Poojan and inaugurated 15 development works, including 12 works for which Bhoomi Poojan was performed and three works that were inaugurated.
The Bhoomi Poojan works primarily include eight major projects of the Ujjain Municipal Corporation, including construction of the road from Gaushala Marg to Shipra Vihar Marg, parking facilities in the Mahakal Lok area, development of the Shri Mahakal Temple premises and renovation of ghats along the Shipra River.
Other projects include landscaping behind the Mahakal Temple by Ujjain Smart City, construction of police housing at Chintaman Jawasia and a police station building at Unhel by the Police Department, and development of 45 urban forests by the Tourism Department. These works have a combined cost of ₹153.31 crore.
The inaugurated projects include police housing and police station buildings constructed at Nilganga and Unhel by the Police Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation, and a 33/11 kV substation constructed at Badnagar by the Energy Department. These works have a combined cost of ₹19.56 crore. These projects will provide the people of Ujjain with improved infrastructure, security and tourism facilities.
