Latur, September 2026: The Maharashtra government’s Department of Information and Public Relations is conducting ‘Loksanvad 2026’ to take information about various government schemes directly to citizens through Ganeshotsav programmes. As part of the initiative, information about schemes of the Health Department and the Maharashtra Khadi and Village Industries Board was provided at a programme organised by the Maharaj Ganesh Mandal in Murud.
Under the integrated Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY), universal health coverage is being provided to citizens across the state.
Officials from the Health Department, Dhananjay Navgire and Govind Surwase, said beneficiaries are entitled to free health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per year for one or all members of a family. Financial assistance of up to Rs 4.5 lakh is also provided for urinary bladder or kidney transplantation.
Senior citizens are eligible for an additional individual benefit of up to Rs 5 lakh. In addition, patients seriously injured in road accidents are provided immediate medical treatment through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, up to a limit of Rs 1.50 lakh, the officials said.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries can avail themselves of free treatment and surgical procedures for a total of 2,399 diseases. Of these, 223 medical procedures have been reserved for government hospitals.
Assistance is also available for the treatment of serious and critical conditions requiring heart, lung and liver transplants. To provide patients with easy access to assistance and guidance, Aarogyamitras have been appointed at participating hospitals.
Health Department officials said a total of 119 hospitals have been empanelled in Latur district for effective implementation of the scheme. These include 16 government hospitals, 50 primary health centres, five urban primary health centres and 48 private hospitals.
District Khadi and Village Industries Officer Chintamani Gutte provided detailed information about the Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme, Honey Village initiative and Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
In-charge District Information Officer Tanaji Gholap explained the objective of the Loksanvad initiative and its role in creating awareness about government schemes among citizens.
Murud Medical Officer Dr Avinash Thombre was among those present at the programme. Abhishek Sahalugde, Vikas Suryawanshi, Shubham Jelewad, Vishal Kanse, Omkar Karpe, Ajinkya Mali, Saurabh Sapsod, Ravi Deshmukh, Akash Surwase, Gajanan Wadgane, Saurabh Gaikwad, Ganesh Wadgane, Rishabh Harangulkar, Rishi Raut, Ajinkya Nade, Bunty Salunkhe, Ranjit Surwase and Dada Landge were also present.
