SOG arrests three wanted criminals; 1,51,774 candidates appear in first shift and 1,50,559 in second shift

Jaipur, September 2026: The Sub-Inspector Combined Competitive Re-Examination-2021, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), was held on Sunday in a safe, orderly and peaceful environment across 666 designated examination centres in the state.
With the objective of ensuring fairness, transparency and confidentiality in the examination while respecting the hard work and aspirations of every candidate, the Rajasthan Police accorded the examination the highest priority and made comprehensive arrangements for its smooth conduct.
Additional Director General (Law and Order) V.K. Singh said extensive security and law-and-order arrangements had been made by the Rajasthan Police during the examination. Necessary arrangements were put in place by the police and administration at all 666 examination centres across 11 districts to ensure security, smooth entry and exit of candidates, traffic management and uninterrupted conduct of the examination.
Special Focus on Confidentiality and Integrity of Examination
The Rajasthan Police maintained heightened vigilance during the re-examination to protect the confidentiality of the question paper, prevent the use of unfair means and ensure the integrity and credibility of the examination.
Necessary directions were issued to police officers and personnel to maintain law and order at examination centres and in surrounding areas.
The Rajasthan Police conveyed that respecting the years of hard work, hopes and dreams of every candidate is a collective responsibility. With this objective, the police remained fully committed to conducting the examination in a fair and transparent environment.
DGP’s Message: Uniform Represents Responsibility Along With Pride
Director General of Police, Rajasthan, Rajeev Kumar Sharma had conveyed his best wishes to candidates on the eve of the examination. He said that the police uniform is not merely a symbol of pride but also represents duty, discipline, integrity, responsibility and a commitment to protecting the public.
He told candidates that their goal should not merely be to secure a post, but to become police personnel whom members of the public can trust during times of crisis.
The Rajasthan Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent, safe and well-organised examination system for the SI Re-Examination-2021 while respecting the hard work and aspirations of every candidate.
SOG Tightens Vigilance; Three Wanted Criminals Arrested
The Special Operations Group (SOG) also put in place heightened vigilance and robust arrangements to ensure the integrity and transparency of the SI Re-Examination-2021.
ADG SOG Vishal Bansal said 50 candidates with discrepancies such as suspicious photographs, identical names or duplicate forms had been identified and were undergoing verification.
The SOG also maintained special surveillance on wanted criminals during the examination. Three wanted criminals who arrived to appear for the examination were arrested.
To eliminate any possibility of a question paper leak, the SOG also summoned around 1,200 suspicious individuals and candidates debarred by the RPSC to the concerned police stations for questioning.
69.58 Per Cent Attendance in First Shift
According to figures released by the RPSC, a total of 2,18,114 candidates were registered across 11 districts for the first shift. Of these, 1,51,774 candidates appeared for the examination, while 66,340 remained absent. The overall attendance in the first shift stood at 69.58 per cent.
Tonk recorded the highest attendance in the first shift at 77.73 per cent, followed by Hanumangarh at 74.35 per cent, Sri Ganganagar at 73.42 per cent, Bharatpur at 73.39 per cent, Alwar at 72.31 per cent, Jodhpur at 71.85 per cent, Kota at 71.44 per cent, Bikaner at 69.69 per cent, Ajmer at 67.43 per cent, Jaipur at 66.90 per cent and Udaipur at 66.46 per cent.
69.03 Per Cent Attendance in Second Shift
In the second shift, 2,18,114 candidates were registered across the same 11 districts. Of these, 1,50,559 candidates appeared for the examination, while 67,555 were absent. The overall attendance in the second shift was 69.03 per cent.
Tonk again recorded the highest attendance at 76.96 per cent, followed by Hanumangarh at 73.83 per cent, Bharatpur at 72.83 per cent, Sri Ganganagar at 73.06 per cent, Jodhpur at 71.29 per cent, Alwar at 71.61 per cent, Kota at 70.90 per cent, Bikaner at 69.12 per cent, Ajmer at 66.96 per cent, Jaipur at 66.29 per cent and Udaipur at 66.06 per cent.
