Shubhavari Chauhan wins Rs 25,000 award; 12 startups present innovative ideas at Maa Shakumbhari University
Saharanpur: The idea of organic farming emerged as the top innovation at the UP Rise Youth Shakti Think Tank programme organised at Maa Shakumbhari University on Wednesday. The event, held on the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, provided young entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their startups and innovative ideas before experts and established entrepreneurs.
The startup Farm to Family, founded by Shubhavari Chauhan and focused on organic farming, was selected as the best innovation. Chauhan was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 for her initiative.
A total of 12 startups presented their ideas and innovations during the programme. The startup Pure Pulse Nutrition, founded by Ashish Singh, which produces natural protein powder from sattu, was selected as the runner-up.
Students urged to make effective use of tablets and smartphones
The programme was inaugurated by Mayor Dr Ajay Singh and Vice-Chancellor Prof Y. Vimala.
Addressing the students, Prof Vimala urged them to make effective use of tablets and smartphones provided by the government for innovation, research and skill development. She encouraged young people to pursue new ideas, develop their capabilities and make an active contribution towards building a developed India.
Mayor Dr Ajay Kumar also encouraged students and young entrepreneurs to continuously pursue opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Young entrepreneurs highlight government support
During the programme, Shubhavari Chauhan, Akshat Sharma, Nandini, Krishna Tyagi, Mariyam, Sawan Kumar, Ashish Singh, Bulbul, Vishal Garg, Priyansh Kumar Sharma, Jagat Ram and Kajal Rathore presented their innovations.
The young participants collectively expressed their appreciation for the government's initiatives, saying that the Yogi Adityanath government had provided an enabling environment for young people by promoting both security and recognition of their skills.
They said that once government support became available, their talent and ideas found an opportunity to come forward.
Farm to Family selected as best innovation
Abhinav Pundir, CEO of the university's incubation centre, Ambika Academic Foundation, said Shubhavari Chauhan's startup Farm to Family was selected as the best innovation.
He said Chauhan had introduced an innovative approach in the field of organic farming. Through her firm, Shubhavori Organics Private Limited, she has undertaken the labelling and packaging of agricultural products and established a supply chain in Noida for their marketing and distribution.
Natural protein powder made from sattu appreciated
Ashish Singh's startup Pure Pulse Nutrition, which produces natural protein powder from sattu, was selected as the runner-up.
The natural powder made from sattu received appreciation from participants and guests at the programme.
Dignitaries present
Registrar Kamal Krishna, Deputy Registrar Anup Kumar, Prof Vinod Kumar, Dr Mitika, Dr Apoorva, Dr Sandeep Kumar, Manav and other dignitaries were present at the programme.
