Hyderabad, Aug 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday launched a sharp political attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership, targeting Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) over the recent developments within the KCR family.
Addressing a public meeting in Mulugu after inaugurating the new Collectorate complex, Revanth Reddy alleged that KTR had driven his sister K. Kavitha out of the family home because he was unwilling to share property with her. Kavitha, who recently resigned from the BRS, has launched a new political outfit, the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS).
Taking a dig at KCR, Revanth Reddy said the former Chief Minister had failed to intervene in the dispute involving his children. “The father, who should have set right his son, was busy sleeping in his farmhouse,” he said, questioning whether such leadership could genuinely work for the welfare of Telangana women.
The Chief Minister contrasted the alleged treatment of Kavitha with his own relationship with Minister Seethakka. He said that although they were not related by blood, he regarded her as a sister and praised her efforts to address the concerns of people in the Mulugu region.
Revanth Reddy also targeted former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao, alleging that he was performing occult rituals in the hope that Telangana would receive less rainfall. The Chief Minister claimed that such efforts had failed and said the state had instead received rains, which he attributed to divine blessings.
During the programme, Revanth Reddy was accompanied by Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud and Ministers Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Adluri Laxman Kumar. The Chief Minister had earlier offered prayers at the Sammakka-Sarakka temple.
Recalling his political journey, Revanth Reddy said that when he was serving as Pradesh Congress Committee president, he had begun a padayatra from Mulugu and travelled through villages and hamlets across Telangana to understand people's problems and communicate his vision for the state.
He said the Congress government was now working towards establishing what he described as “Indiramma Rajyam”, with a particular focus on women, poor families and unemployed youth.
The Chief Minister said the development of tribal areas remained a priority for his government. Describing Adivasis as communities known for their hard work, he said inadequate irrigation facilities continued to contribute to hardships in the region.
“We will conduct a special review of irrigation projects and sanction funds for their development,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that the government would take steps to strengthen irrigation infrastructure.
He also stressed the importance of education and skill development for tribal youth. The government, he said, would work towards providing technical skills and expanding educational opportunities from nursery through Class 12.
Revanth Reddy said skill-based education would be particularly important in preparing young people for employment opportunities outside India. Countries such as Japan and Germany, he noted, offered significant opportunities for skilled workers.
The Chief Minister said his government would continue to combine welfare measures with infrastructure development and employment-oriented initiatives, while maintaining its focus on improving living standards across Telangana.
