Collector appeals to residents to donate toys and become part of children’s happiness
Raipur, September 2026 : Various activities will be organised in Balrampur district as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, scheduled to be held from September 17 to October 17, 2026, with the objective of promoting public participation and social responsibility.
As part of the campaign, the ‘Angan Milan Seva’ (Anganwadi Samman and Matru Samman) programme will be conducted from September 25 to October 7, 2026. In line with the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, toys will be provided through public participation for young children attending all 2,371 Anganwadi centres in the district.
The objective of ‘Angan Milan Seva’ is to make Anganwadi centres more joyful, attractive and conducive to learning for children. Participation by residents of the district has been given special importance under the initiative. Toy donation will be the most heartfelt and sensitive aspect of the programme, enabling residents to share a sense of service, affection and belonging with Anganwadi children.
‘Toys kept at home can become a reason for another child’s happiness’
Balrampur Collector Chandan Sanjay Tripathi has appealed to residents to donate safe, clean and useful toys that are no longer being used at home to children at Anganwadi centres. Interested citizens can also voluntarily purchase and donate new toys for the children.
She said that even a small effort to bring a smile to a child's face is extremely meaningful. Residents, public representatives, social organisations, voluntary organisations and business establishments can visit their nearest Anganwadi centre between September 25 and October 7 and participate in the public initiative.
Anganwadi centres are children’s first schools
Collector Tripathi said Anganwadi centres are the ‘first schools’ in children’s lives, where the initial foundations of learning, understanding, communication and social behaviour are developed. Therefore, community participation can play a decisive role in making these centres more vibrant and conducive to learning.
She urged residents to come forward and contribute, saying that a small gesture of support can bring a big smile to a child's face and enrich their learning journey. Every small effort made for children contributes to strengthening the foundation of their bright future.
Toys to strengthen learning through play
Toys are not merely a source of entertainment for children; they also play an important role in their creative, intellectual and social development. Through play, children learn to understand new things, develop their imagination and acquire language and social skills.
Toys received through public participation will be used at Anganwadi centres to create an environment where children can learn while playing, express their creativity and enjoy the learning process. This will also encourage greater interest and participation among children at the centres.
From service to commitment and from commitment to public participation
‘Angan Milan Seva’ is not limited to toy donations. It is also an opportunity to strengthen sensitivity, cooperation and a sense of belonging in society. While children will receive useful resources for their development, people from different sections of society will get an opportunity to directly connect with them and contribute through service.
The district administration and the Women and Child Development Department have appealed to all residents to actively participate in ‘Angan Milan Seva’ from September 25 to October 7. Citizens can donate unused but safe and useful toys at any Anganwadi centre or provide new toys according to their choice.
The public participation initiative is expected to bring joy to children at all 2,371 Anganwadi centres while strengthening the spirit of service, affection and social responsibility. Through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the district administration also seeks to convey the message that responsibility for securing a better future for children rests not only with families but with society as a whole.
