Church of Bharat Backs Waqf Amendment Bill, Urges Swift Passage
The Church of Bharat supports the Central Government in introducing the much-awaited Waqf Amendment Bill. The existing Act contradicts the principles of natural justice and the core values enshrined in the Constitution. The removal of Sections 40 and 108A from the existing Act is highly appreciated, as these provisions were unjust and did not align with the secular fabric of the nation.
We urge the Central Government to pass the Amendment Bill at the earliest to alleviate the suffering of thousands, including those in places like Munambam. Only a legal amendment can provide a lasting solution to their plight.
We also call upon Members of Parliament from all opposition parties to support this historic legislation and ensure its unanimous passage.
