Pu B Lalchhanzova Presents Awards at Serchhip Independence Day Football Tournament

Serchhip, Aug 2025:The final match of the Independence Day Football Tournament, organised by the Serchhip District Football Association (SDFA), was held today at the Serchhip Sports Complex. The prizes were presented by Supply Minister Pu B Lalchhanzova.

The Independence Day Football Final took place in the afternoon after the Independence Day celebrations. Hmar Veng Football Club and Vengchung Football Club faced each other in the final, with Hmar Veng Football Club emerging victorious by 2–1. A total of eight First Division clubs participated in the tournament. Hmar Veng FC also received the Fair Play Team award. The Best Player award went to Lalbiaktluanga of Hmar Veng FC, while the Top Scorer title was claimed by Wilbur Lallawmkima of HFC Young Boys.

Awards for the Serchhip District Women’s Football Championship 2025 were also presented. In this tournament, Eklavya Model Residential School emerged as champions, while Brilliant Higher Secondary School secured second place.
