Naidu Calls for Booth-Level Strengthening of TDP Ahead of Upcoming Elections

Amaravati, April 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday urged party leaders and cadres to intensify efforts at the grassroots level to strengthen the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), with a focus on boosting vote share in the next round of elections. Addressing party members after administering the oath to newly constituted politburo, national, and state committees at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri, Naidu laid out a roadmap centered on discipline, coordination, and performance.

Highlighting the importance of electoral preparedness, Naidu stressed that the party must aim to secure a higher vote share than it achieved in the 2024 elections. He pointed out that the next general elections are just three years away and emphasized that the current mandate was given by the people to rebuild and transform the state. According to him, increasing vote share in the upcoming elections would serve as a true measure of the government’s performance and public trust.

The Chief Minister also directed party leaders to actively promote the developmental initiatives undertaken by the government during the forthcoming local body elections. He expressed confidence that the TDP-led alliance would secure a landslide victory, provided the party remains connected with the electorate and communicates its achievements effectively.

A key aspect of Naidu’s address was his emphasis on maintaining strong coordination with alliance partners, including the Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He noted that his working relationship with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan remains cordial and constructive, and urged party workers to replicate the same spirit of cooperation at the grassroots level. He cautioned cadres against controversies, asserting that unity within the alliance is essential for electoral success.

Reiterating the party’s legacy, Naidu described the TDP as a disciplined organization with a strong cadre base. Reflecting on its 44-year history, he said the party has faced numerous challenges but has consistently emerged resilient. He remarked that the TDP’s relevance will endure as long as the Telugu people continue to identify with its vision and principles.

Naidu also spoke about the extensive process involved in forming the new party committees, calling it one of the most comprehensive exercises he has undertaken in four decades. He explained that the committees were constituted after careful evaluation, balancing the inclusion of experienced leaders with opportunities for newcomers and recognition for dedicated workers. Notably, leaders at the mandal level and cluster in-charges have also been accommodated in the politburo, reflecting a more inclusive approach.

Stressing discipline as the cornerstone of the party, Naidu urged leaders at all levels to maintain decorum and approachability. He advised them to engage with the public in a respectful manner and act as a bridge between the government and citizens. Any misconduct, he warned, could damage both the party’s reputation and the government’s credibility.

The Chief Minister also praised his son Nara Lokesh, who has taken oath as the party’s national working president. He credited Lokesh with playing a crucial role during the party’s time in opposition, particularly in organizing training programmes and supporting party workers. Naidu highlighted Lokesh’s efforts in attracting global investments and advancing the promise of creating 20 lakh jobs, stating that his appointment reflects both capability and responsibility.

On governance, Naidu asserted that the state’s economy, which he described as previously being on “life support,” is now on a path to recovery with the support of the central government. He noted that stalled central schemes have been revived, debts are being restructured, and the government is steadily fulfilling its “Super Six” welfare promises.

He further claimed that his administration has restored Andhra Pradesh’s brand image and public confidence, which he alleged had declined under the previous regime. Accusing the YSR Congress Party of spreading misinformation, he urged party workers to counter such narratives with facts and transparency.

Naidu concluded by asserting that despite political opposition, the state continues to attract significant investments due to growing confidence in the government’s policies. He called on party members to remain committed, disciplined, and proactive in strengthening the party’s grassroots presence, positioning the TDP for greater electoral success in the years ahead.
