Probationer IAS Officers Visit Police Headquarters; Engage in Special Interaction with DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma

Jaipur, May 2026 : A delegation of probationer Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers visited the Police Headquarters on Wednesday as part of their training programme aimed at providing practical exposure to policing systems, law and order management, and administrative coordination between civil and police services.

The visit focused on strengthening understanding of ground-level governance mechanisms and enhancing synergy between district administration and police leadership.

A special interactive session was held at the conference hall of the Police Headquarters with Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma. He emphasised that effective coordination between the police and administration is essential for successful leadership in the field and for maintaining law and order efficiently.

During the programme, senior police officials delivered detailed presentations and lectures on various aspects of policing and public safety. Director General of Police (Special Operations) Shri Anand Kumar Srivastava highlighted the importance of coordination between district magistrates and superintendents of police in maintaining law and order at the district level.

Director General of Police (Training & Traffic) Shri Anil Paliwal shared insights on the current road safety scenario in the state and explained the functioning of District Road Safety Committees, offering practical guidance to the probationers.

Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) Shri Biju George Joseph presented an overview of the Rajasthan Police framework, explaining its organisational structure, operational systems and administrative setup.

Inspector General of Police (Anti-Narcotics Task Force) Shri Vikas Kumar spoke about drug law enforcement mechanisms in the state and the role of the NCORD (Narcotics Coordination Committee) in dismantling drug trafficking networks at the district level.

In a session focused on contemporary challenges, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Cyber Crime) Shri Shantanu Kumar Singh briefed the officers on cybercrime threats and digital frauds. The probationers also visited the 1930 Cyber Control Room, where they observed real-time technical responses used to address online financial fraud cases.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Civil Rights) Smt. Shweta Dhanak provided an overview of police initiatives aimed at protecting women, children and vulnerable sections of society, along with various welfare and protection schemes.

As part of the final leg of the visit, the probationer officers toured the advanced Abhay Command Centre located at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate. Police Commissioner Shri Sachin Mittal demonstrated the city’s integrated surveillance system, CCTV monitoring network, e-challan mechanism, and emergency response systems, showcasing the state’s modern smart policing model.

The visit concluded with a broader discussion on how technology-driven policing, institutional coordination and responsive governance can strengthen public service delivery and law enforcement effectiveness in the state.
