Rajasthan Government Reviews Fuel Supply; Says Adequate Stock of Petrol, Diesel and LPG Available

Jaipur, May 2026: Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the state secretariat to assess the supply situation of petrol, diesel, and LPG in Rajasthan.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary clarified that the state currently has sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG, and there is no need for the public to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding or bulk purchasing. He assured that the overall supply system in the state remains fully under control.

He further stated that Rajasthan is connected to the country’s major pipeline network, through which regular and uninterrupted supply of fuel and cooking gas is being maintained. He added that the Central Government has also assured continuous support, ensuring that no disruption in supply will occur in the future.

The Chief Secretary directed all oil and gas marketing companies operating in the state to publish district-wise data on the availability and distribution of petrol, diesel, and LPG on a daily basis. He said that district-level stock monitoring will be carried out regularly to prevent misinformation, rumours, or any artificial scarcity situation.

He also issued strict instructions to closely monitor bulk open sales of petrol and diesel in drums. Emphasising the need to prevent illegal fuel trading and possible leakages, he said that the monitoring mechanism will be further strengthened. The administration, he added, is keeping constant watch on the situation.

The Chief Secretary urged citizens not to believe in rumours and avoid panic buying, stating that such behaviour can unnecessarily pressure the supply chain despite adequate availability.

Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department Ambrish Kumar said that the department is continuously monitoring the situation to ensure that no illegal sale or distribution of petrol, diesel, or LPG takes place anywhere in the state.

Senior officials from major oil companies such as BPCL, IOCL, and HPCL, representatives of private fuel and gas supply companies, members of the Petrol Pump Dealers Association, and senior officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department were present in the meeting.

Authorities reiterated that the supply situation remains stable and well-managed across Rajasthan.
