The Yogi government has broken the backbone of the cheating mafia, that is why Akhilesh is frustrated: Asim Arun
Lucknow, May 2026 : Two senior ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government, Swatantra Dev Singh and Asim Arun, launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav, alleging that during the SP government, the recruitment process had become a hub of corruption, casteism and money power. Both ministers said that the Yogi Adityanath government has established a transparent and fair recruitment system in the state and restored the confidence of youth, whereas during the SP rule, the ‘chacha-bhatija recovery system’ used to become active whenever jobs were announced.
Jal Shakti Department Cabinet Minister Swatanra Dev Singh said, “Whenever advertisements for appointments and jobs were released during the Samajwadi Party government, the chacha-bhatija would come out carrying bags for loot.”
He alleged that at that time, open rates were fixed for everything from transfer-posting to recruitment, and no work was done without money or recommendation.
He said, “Under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, around 9 lakh government recruitments have been completed with complete transparency and fairness. Youth from all sections of society got opportunities.”
He added, “Today, 4-5 youths in every village have received government jobs. Neither casteism nor regionalism worked. Selection happened only on the basis of merit.”
Swatantra Dev Singh alleged that during the SP rule, Dalits, backward classes and deprived sections were systematically suppressed. He said, “Corruption and loot had become part of the working style of that government. There was corruption in every work during the SP government. The public has seen and understood everything.”
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare, Asim Arun also hit back at Akhilesh Yadav’s alleged ‘PDA audit report’ and said that the public already has the real ‘audit report’ of the SP government.
He said, “A police recruitment scam took place between 2004 and 2007 during the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, in which allegations of large-scale irregularities were made.”
Asim Arun said, “After the Mayawati government came to power, more than 50 senior police officers were suspended and the entire recruitment process had to be cancelled. Later, the CBI filed a chargesheet in the matter.”
He said, “The Mayawati government had implemented a transparent police recruitment system in 2007, but in 2012, the Akhilesh government scrapped it and started recruitment on the basis of Class 10 and 12 marks, after which allegations of bias and irregularities increased again.”
Asim Arun said that for the first time, the Yogi government introduced a recruitment system in which selection was done only on the basis of merit, without recommendation and without money. He said that so far around 2.25 lakh police personnel have been recruited transparently in the state and overall around 9 lakh government jobs have been given.
He said, “Today the backbone of the cheating mafia has been broken. Action is being taken against exam mafias. That is why Akhilesh Yadav is frustrated.”
Asim Arun also raised questions over appointments made in UPPSC during the Samajwadi Party government. He said, “The SP government had appointed Anil Yadav as the UPPSC chairman, whose appointment was later cancelled by the High Court.”
He alleged that during that period, the recruitment process was influenced to benefit one particular caste. Even on general category seats, people from the same caste were recruited. This is the real audit report of SP.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Asim Arun said that the Congress leader comes to Amethi and Rae Bareli like a “political tourist” and tries to create controversy every time.
He said, “India’s economy is growing at the rate of 7.6 percent and is among the fastest-growing major economies in the world. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is working towards energy conservation and foreign exchange savings, but Rahul Gandhi is only trying to spread confusion through baseless statements.”
Both ministers said that the people of Uttar Pradesh have clearly seen the difference between the SP government and the Yogi government. They claimed that while earlier the recruitment process was affected by casteism and corruption, now selections are being made on the basis of transparency, technology and merit.
