‘Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Inspects the Bridge, Says Reaching Development to Remote Areas is Our Highest Priority’
‘Modern Bailey Bridge on the Bijapur–Puwarti Road Gives New Momentum to Connectivity and Development’
Raipur, June 2026 : Where difficult geographical conditions once posed challenges to development, modern infrastructure is now opening new avenues of opportunity. As part of the statewide Good Governance Festival (Sushasan Tihar), Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today visited the remote forested village of Kondapalli in Bijapur district and inspected the Bailey Bridge constructed on the Bijapur–Puwarti road.
Reviewing the bridge’s construction technology, utility, and role in regional development, he described it as a symbol of the changing face of Bastar.
The Chief Minister said that roads, bridges, and other basic infrastructure are not merely construction projects; they are strong instruments that connect remote areas with the mainstream of education, healthcare, employment, and development. He stated that the state government’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.
Technology Offering Less Time, Lower Cost, and Greater Strength
The Bailey Bridge, constructed by the Border Roads Organisation, is an important component of the Bijapur–Puwarti road project. During the inspection, officials informed the Chief Minister that Bailey Bridges are more economical, stronger, and more durable than conventional bridges.
Such bridges can be built at nearly one-fifth the cost of traditional bridges and can be completed within just one month. The technology has proven highly effective in establishing rapid connectivity in difficult and sensitive regions.
21 Bailey Bridges Driving Development in Bijapur
It is noteworthy that 21 Bailey Bridges have been constructed in Bijapur district so far. These bridges have significantly improved transportation to remote villages and provided residents easier access to healthcare, education, and other essential services.
The structures have accelerated both development activities and the delivery of public services across the region.
The Chief Minister also praised the hard work and dedication of the workers involved in the project, stating that the state’s labourers and youth are the true builders of the development journey. He encouraged the workers and interacted with them about their experiences.
A New Identity for a Changing Bastar
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that infrastructure development is creating new possibilities in the Bastar region. The Kondapalli Bailey Bridge is not merely a bridge; it is a powerful symbol of development, trust, and good governance.
He said it represents a new Bastar, where development is steadily reaching remote villages and difficult terrains, bringing positive changes to the lives of local people.
