Saint Community Welcomes Reintroduction of Indian Culture and Spiritual Values in School Education
Spiritual Leaders Meet Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Express Gratitude for Promoting Spiritual Education
Raipur, June 2026 : Several spiritual leaders called on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence in Raipur on Tuesday. Among those who met the Chief Minister were South Kaushal Peethadheeshwar Swami Rajiv Lochan Das Ji Maharaj, Mahant Surendra Das Ji Maharaj of the Nirvani Akhara, Uday Lal Ji of Shadani Darbar, and Devkar Sahib Ji of Kabir Ashram Sonpairi.
During the meeting, the saints welcomed the Chhattisgarh government’s decision to reintroduce traditional shlokas, mantras and moral teachings rooted in Indian culture and spirituality into school education. They expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sai for this initiative.
The spiritual leaders said that in earlier times, students in schools were introduced to mantras such as “Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara” and other elements of India’s cultural traditions. These practices helped instill values, discipline and moral character among children.
However, over time, such traditions gradually disappeared from the educational environment. The saints noted that the state government’s initiative to revive them is highly commendable.
They said that the inclusion of Shanti Path (peace prayers), Saraswati Vandana (prayers to Goddess Saraswati), food prayers and other inspiring Vedic and cultural recitations in schools would play an important role in the holistic development of children.
According to the saint community, these efforts will help the younger generation connect with India’s rich knowledge traditions, cultural heritage and ethical values.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge, but also the foundation for developing values, character and life skills.
“Our government is committed to connecting children with Indian culture, traditions and spiritual values alongside modern education,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that incorporating Shanti Path, Saraswati Vandana, food prayers and other inspirational recitations in schools would help nurture discipline, positive thinking, self-confidence and cultural awareness among students.
He said that the initiative is an important step toward connecting the younger generation with their roots and developing them into cultured, aware and responsible citizens.
The spiritual leaders praised the Chief Minister for the initiative and blessed him, stating that the decision would strengthen the state’s cultural identity and spiritual heritage.
They emphasized that reviving traditional Indian values in education would contribute significantly to shaping morally responsible and socially conscious citizens while preserving the country’s rich civilizational legacy for future generations.
