RSMML Should Adopt Latest Mining Technologies and Focus on Zero-Loss Mining: Chief Secretary

Jaipur, June 2026: Chief Secretary Mr. V. Srinivas emphasized that Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) should focus on zero-loss mining by adopting the latest mining technologies from across the world. He said comprehensive efforts are needed to enhance RSMML’s business operations and profitability through aggressive marketing strategies.
Mr. Srinivas was addressing the 76th Annual General Meeting of RSMML held at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He stated that RSMML is one of the state government’s key enterprises and has been making a significant contribution to agriculture through the mining and marketing of rock phosphate. He stressed the need to prepare and implement annual action plans to further increase the mining of rock phosphate, limestone, lignite, and gypsum. Highlighting the importance of potash exploration, he called for identifying and pursuing new opportunities in this area.
Additional Chief Secretary, Mines and Petroleum, Mrs. Aparna Arora underscored the need to strengthen RSMML’s monitoring system, stating that it would lead to improved outcomes. She informed that during the financial year 2025–26, RSMML sold 70.64 million tonnes of minerals, including limestone, rock phosphate, lignite, and gypsum. She added that there is a need to further increase these figures during the current financial year.
RSMML Managing Director Mr. P. Ramesh informed the meeting that the company recorded business worth Rs 177.93 crore during the first two months of the current financial year. He also stated that an R&D cell has been established within RSMML to promote research and development activities.
During the Annual General Meeting, Director of Mines Mr. Mahavir Prasad Meena and other members offered suggestions to enhance RSMML’s business growth and profitability.
