Government School Results Improved, Enrolment Rises: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that eras may change and centuries may pass, but respect for teachers has never diminished. Teachers are like lamps that illuminate the lives of others by burning themselves. Teachers have always been respected, are respected today, and will continue to be so. Congratulating the teachers of Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister said that due to their dedicated efforts, examination results of government schools in the state have improved to historic levels. Enrolment and school admission rates have also recorded a significant rise, and the student dropout rate in the state has dropped to zero. The contribution of teachers in this achievement is invaluable and worthy of reverence.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed an event organised by the Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Association at the campus of Government Subhash Excellence School on Wednesday. He said, speaking at the State-Level ‘Shaikshanik Gunvatta Shikshak Sammelan’, that Sandipani Schools and PM Shri Schools are setting new benchmarks in educational quality. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the success of Sandipani Schools has inspired everyone, and therefore, 200 new Sandipani Schools will be opened in the state from the current academic session.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is among the first states in the country to implement the National Education Policy 2020. The state is also rapidly moving towards AI, coding and skill-based education for future generations, with teachers making a vital contribution. He said that the government has left no stone unturned in safeguarding teachers’ interests and will soon extend any remaining benefits as well.
The Sammelan began with the lighting of the lamp and worship of Goddess Saraswati by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Students of Government Subhash Excellence School presented an enchanting cultural performance. On the occasion, the Teachers’ Association warmly felicitated the Chief Minister for several teacher-friendly decisions.
Retired Teachers Honoured; Blessings Received
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured retired lecturers Smt. Kokila Sen, Shri Badri Prasad Tiwari, Shri Brijmohan Acharya, Shri Devkrishna Vyas and Shri Kishanlal Nakda. Smt. Kokila Sen had taught physics to the Chief Minister in Ujjain. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid tribute to his teacher by touching her feet and seeking her blessings. Similarly, Shri Badri Prasad Tiwari had taught School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh in Narsinghpur.
Release of Calendar, Diary and Booklet
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated and reviewed an exhibition highlighting the development journey of the Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Association. He also released the Association’s annual calendar, a booklet titled ‘Hamara Vidyalaya–Hamara Teerth’, a table calendar and a diary.
Great Youth Shaped by Teachers in Every Era
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that he is emotionally connected to the education system and teachers, and the conference was deeply moving. Teachers refine the talents inherent in students. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is establishing a new identity on the global stage. In every era, gurus and teachers have helped society find solutions to its challenges through their disciples. He said the land of Madhya Pradesh has been fortunate in every age, linked with Lord Shri Ram and Shri Krishna. From Jhabua, Chandrashekhar Azad emerged. The state also witnessed the rule of Samrat Vikramaditya and Raja Bhoj. In every era, youth have played significant roles under the guidance of their teachers.
Madhya Pradesh’s Important Role in Achieving a Developed India
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that governance also means cooperation, achievable through mutual harmony. Government goals should be lofty, with the intent and capability to resolve society’s challenges. An elected government is responsible for the welfare of all its citizens. Madhya Pradesh is playing a leading role in achieving the goal of a Developed India. He stated that the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister and the Education Minister themselves studied in government schools. He said that the rationalisation of over 22,000 teachers in the state was completed smoothly.
Vice-Chancellors Designated as ‘Kul-Guru’
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is among the five states that have successfully implemented the new education policy. The state is also among the three with the lowest unemployment rates in India. Grand Sandipani Schools are being built across the state. The government has extended dearness allowance benefits to teachers, benefiting about 1.5 lakh educators. All university vice-chancellors in the state have been given the new designation of Kul-Guru, reflecting the government’s commitment to honouring teachers.
Students Receiving Quality Education: School Education Minister Shri Singh
School Education and Transport Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the School Education Department has set new benchmarks. The state government has extended numerous benefits to teachers. Development has gained momentum in both rural and urban areas, with special focus on the welfare of the poor and farmers. Along with the construction of new school buildings, students are being provided with quality education. Dropout rates in government schools have dropped to zero, while enrolment continues to rise. The recognition received for the government’s work is largely due to the dedicated efforts of teachers. The Education Minister added that for the first time, a lump sum of ₹322 crore has been approved to provide the fourth time-bound pay scale to all eligible teachers—an unprecedented step. Time limits have been set to remove long-pending hurdles in school education, and funds have been allocated in one go to ensure essential facilities in schools. The last cabinet meeting approved 200 new Sandipani Schools. The state is sparing no effort in implementing the National Education Policy, whose effective execution rests with teachers.
Teachers Shape the Nation’s Future
All India Teachers’ Federation Organising Secretary Shri Mahendra Kapoor said teachers shape the future in the form of children for the nation’s interest. Under the ‘Our School, Our Pride’ campaign, over 1.4 million teachers are teaching in line with the National Education Policy. Teachers see no distinction between rich and poor students and work not merely for pay and allowances but to educate children and help resolve social issues.
Felicitation and Participation
State President of the Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Association Dr. Kshatraveer Singh Rathore, read out the felicitation citation, praising Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s work in promoting employment-oriented and innovative education and for enhancing the dignity of over 1.5 lakh teachers by granting the fourth time-bound pay scale. State Organising Secretary Shri Himmat Singh Jain highlighted the establishment of Sandipani Schools that provide modern, quality education and expressed gratitude to the government for granting time-bound pay scales to government teachers.
State Minister Shri Rakesh Gupta, Shri Sanjay Rawal, Shri Vinod Punit, other office-bearers, and a large number of teachers from all districts of the state were present. The programme began with a melodious rendition of Vande Mataram by Sushri Shubhashini Joshi and concluded with the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’.
