PMShri Schools in Rajasthan Emerge as Centers of Excellence

Jaipur, Jan 2026: Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and in line with the visionary goals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajasthan’s state government is laying the foundation for a bright future through quality education. The PMShri (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) initiative is transforming schools into hubs of academic excellence, offering students smart classrooms, trained teachers, innovation-driven learning, activity-based teaching, and value-based discipline.

These schools are built on the concept of “excellent management,” providing students with a practical learning environment and modern educational facilities. Vocational education is also being effectively integrated. Under the PMShri scheme, a total of 639 schools in Rajasthan are being developed as Centers of Excellence. The first phase included 402 schools and the second phase 237 schools, with renovations, modernization, and expansion of essential infrastructure in all locations.

Kindergartens Being Operated

All 639 PMShri schools now have operational kindergartens. In the first phase, these schools received resources such as Ansh, Anmol, and Alok workbooks, child-friendly furniture, and community engagement programs to involve parents in the education process, ensuring holistic development of children. NTT teachers and support staff have also been appointed in these kindergartens.

Digital Libraries, O-Labs, and Exposure Visits

Digital libraries have been set up in 500 PMShri schools, while 142 schools now have O-Labs. During the 2024-25 academic year, 623 schools received 2,492 science and mathematics kits. Exposure visits to educational and industrial institutions are providing students with practical knowledge and employment-oriented skills.

Modern Training for Teachers

Teachers in PMShri schools are receiving residential training, ABL kits, and innovation-based leadership training from IIM Udaipur. Camps held in Jaipur, Sirohi, and Udaipur have given a new direction to teaching quality in the state.

Self-Defense Training for Girls

Constitution classrooms are being established in all PMShri schools to make students aware of democratic values. In addition, girls are being provided self-defense and martial arts training. Sanitary pad incinerator machines are also being installed in 144 schools.

State-Level Ranking of PMShri Schools

For the first time, a state-level ranking of all 639 PMShri schools has been released by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas. The ranking is based on 18 criteria. The top five PMShri schools in Rajasthan are PMShri Dhawa (Jodhpur), PMShri Sawar (Ajmer), PMShri Manpura Machedi (Jaipur), PMShri Jodhakiya (Hanumangarh), and PMShri Reengas (Sikar).

Through these initiatives—from kindergartens to digital libraries—PMShri schools are emerging as symbols of quality education, preparing students for academic excellence and holistic development.
